Statements, asked twice

You take a position on sharp political and ideological statements using a six-point agreement scale. Key positions appear twice with opposite framing, once sympathetic and once critical. How much your answer shifts between the two framings becomes your framing bias score.

Alignment, not loyalty

The result shows how closely your answers match each position across all issues, not just the ones you feel strongly about. You might find you align with a party or ideology you didn't expect, or that you're genuinely split between two.

Politics in Nepal: the context of this test

Nepal is a federal parliamentary republic. The 275-member House of Representatives is elected by a mixed system: 165 seats by first-past-the-post and 110 by proportional representation. The last election was held on 5 March 2026, after the Gen Z protests of September 2025 brought down the government of K. P. Sharma Oli.

The party system

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) won a landslide with 182 seats, and former Kathmandu mayor Balen Shah became prime minister. The Nepali Congress (38 seats) and CPN (UML) (25 seats) had their worst results ever. The Nepali Communist Party of Pushpa Kamal Dahal won 17 seats and the royalist RPP 5.

The divides that split voters

Corruption and nepotism, jobs for young people, the system of government, federalism, the electoral system, the monarchy and freedom online dominate the debate.

How it looks on the compass

The RSP is a centrist anti-establishment party. The Nepali Congress is social democratic, the UML and the Nepali Communist Party come from the communist left, and the RPP is a conservative royalist party.
