SWAPO

IPC
Your answers most closely match the Independent Patriots for Change led by Panduleni Itula. You support ending SWAPO's dominance, fighting corruption, more jobs for young people and a bigger national share of resources.
Affirmative Repositioning
Your answers most closely match Affirmative Repositioning led by Job Amupanda. You support radical land redistribution, state ownership of resources, job creation and full reparations from Germany.
PDM
Your answers most closely match the Popular Democratic Movement led by McHenry Venaani. You support property rights, private investment, the fight against corruption and liberal values.
Statements, asked twice
You take a position on sharp political and ideological statements using a six-point agreement scale. Key positions appear twice with opposite framing, once sympathetic and once critical. How much your answer shifts between the two framings becomes your framing bias score.
Alignment, not loyalty
The result shows how closely your answers match each position across all issues, not just the ones you feel strongly about. You might find you align with a party or ideology you didn't expect, or that you're genuinely split between two.
Politics in Namibia: the context of this test
Namibia is a presidential republic. The president and the National Assembly are elected for five years, with MPs chosen by proportional representation. The last general election was held in November 2024.
The party system
SWAPO has governed since independence in 1990. In 2024 it kept a narrow majority, and Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah became Namibia's first female president in March 2025. The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) became the main opposition, ahead of Affirmative Repositioning (AR) and the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM).
The divides that split voters
Unemployment, land reform, the new oil discoveries, corruption, education and the legacy of colonialism dominate the debate.
How it looks on the compass
SWAPO is a former liberation movement on the centre-left. AR is radical left on land and resources, the IPC a broad anti-SWAPO movement and the PDM centre-right and liberal.
