Statements, asked twice

You take a position on sharp political and ideological statements using a six-point agreement scale. Key positions appear twice with opposite framing, once sympathetic and once critical. How much your answer shifts between the two framings becomes your framing bias score.

Alignment, not loyalty

The result shows how closely your answers match each position across all issues, not just the ones you feel strongly about. You might find you align with a party or ideology you didn't expect, or that you're genuinely split between two.

Politics in Nigeria: the context of this test

Nigeria is a federal presidential republic of 36 states and Africa's most populous country. The president and the National Assembly are elected for four years. The next presidential and National Assembly elections are set for 16 January 2027.

The party system

President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has governed since 2023 and is seeking a second term. Many opposition governors have defected to the APC since 2025. Atiku Abubakar now leads the African Democratic Congress coalition, Peter Obi runs for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, and the Peoples Democratic Party, which ruled from 1999 to 2015, has been weakened by splits.

The divides that split voters

The cost of living after the end of the petrol subsidy and the fall of the naira, insecurity from jihadists, bandits and separatists, corruption, federalism, religion and region shape Nigerian politics.

How it looks on the compass

The main parties are less divided by ideology than by region, religion and personalities. Most favour a market economy with state support. Differences show on the subsidy, federal power, security methods and the ruling party's dominance, with the AAC offering a radical left alternative.
