Statements, asked twice

You take a position on sharp political and ideological statements using a six-point agreement scale. Key positions appear twice with opposite framing, once sympathetic and once critical. How much your answer shifts between the two framings becomes your framing bias score.

Alignment, not loyalty

The result shows how closely your answers match each position across all issues, not just the ones you feel strongly about. You might find you align with a party or ideology you didn't expect, or that you're genuinely split between two.

Politics in Malta: the context of this test

Malta is a parliamentary republic and the smallest member of the EU. Voters elect the House of Representatives by the single transferable vote, and extra seats are added to keep results proportional and to improve gender balance. The last general election was held on 30 May 2026.

The party system

Two parties dominate. Robert Abela's Labour Party won a record fourth term in a row in 2026 with about 52% of the vote, against about 45% for the Nationalist Party led by Alex Borg. Smaller parties such as Momentum, the green ADPD and Aħwa Maltin together won about 3.5% and no seats.

The divides that split voters

The cost of living, wages, overdevelopment, traffic and the rapid growth of the population through foreign workers dominate the debate, along with corruption and the rule of law, the low-tax business model and social issues such as abortion and assisted dying.

How it looks on the compass

Both main parties sit close to the centre on the economy, defending Malta's tax model and energy subsidies. They differ more on governance, growth and social values. ADPD and Momentum challenge the growth model from a green and anti-corruption angle, while Aħwa Maltin campaigns against immigration and the EU.
