Restore Britain

Overview

Restore Britain is a right-wing political party in the United Kingdom founded by Rupert Lowe, a Member of Parliament who was originally elected for Reform UK before leaving to sit as an independent. The party began as a campaign movement in 2025 and was registered as a political party with the Electoral Commission in early 2026, allowing it to field candidates in elections.

It occupies similar ground to Reform UK on the right of British politics, with a strong emphasis on reducing immigration and restoring what it describes as national sovereignty and accountability. As a very new party it is still building its organisation and testing its electoral support.

History

Restore Britain grew out of the political activity of Rupert Lowe, who was elected as a Reform UK MP at the 2024 general election and later split from that party. He launched Restore Britain first as a pressure group in 2025, and it was formally registered as a political party in March 2026, with Lowe as its leader and nominating officer.

As a young party its history is still being written. It has attracted a number of local councillors and campaigners and has begun contesting elections, positioning itself as a harder-edged alternative to Reform UK on the right.

Economic Policy

Restore Britain favours lower taxes, reduced public spending, and a smaller state, in common with other parties on the British right. It emphasises economic self-reliance, support for domestic industry, and scepticism toward large government programmes and toward net zero climate policies, which it argues impose excessive costs. Its economic programme is still developing as the party establishes itself.

Social Policy

The party is nationalist and socially conservative, with immigration as its central issue. It calls for very sharp reductions in immigration and stronger enforcement, and it emphasises national identity, law and order, and traditional institutions. It also stresses political accountability and direct democracy, arguing that established parties have failed to represent voters' concerns.

Foreign Policy

Restore Britain emphasises national sovereignty and independence from supranational institutions. It opposes closer alignment with the European Union and stresses control of borders and a foreign policy centred tightly on British national interests. As a new party its detailed foreign policy positions are still emerging.
